Overview
As a Workshop Technician you will work on HGV, LGV and Plant Equipment, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of our diverse range of machinery. You will utilise your technical expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on all HGV and plant equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components of our equipment, vehicles and plant machinery.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and malfunctions on our specialist equipment in plant machinery electrical systems.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate repair efforts and ensure efficient workflow within the workshop.
- Document maintenance and repair activities accurately, including parts used, labour hours, and equipment condition using our digital format.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Workshop Technician or similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems.
- Confident in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults in plant equipment, including wiring, sensors, switches, and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure thorough diagnosis and repair of equipment.
- Communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Ideally will also have electrical knowledge.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
- A full UK driving licence is required
- HGV Class 2 License would be advantageous
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in LGV, HGV and/or plant mechanics
- A flexible and hard-working approach to all tasks within the workshop environment
- The ability to work well as part of a team as well as working independently
- Flexible with working hours including weekend work.
Driving licence checks will be conducted.
