Purpose of the role

The Network Planning Manager is responsible for maximizing the airline's profitability by managing Wizz Air's existing route network capacity and expanding the network in assigned markets. The role involves assessing market trends, competition, and costs while providing strategic planning, seasonal loadings, and business recommendations to management.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize profitability by optimizing capacity, weekly frequencies, and schedules to ensure the right product is offered to the market.
  • Manage capacity on a portfolio of routes comprising several countries and bases.
  • Deliver monthly capacity plan updates to stakeholders and management.
  • Assess new markets based on strategic fit, financial performance, and growth potential.
  • Recommend new routes and bases to add to the network and develop related financial forecasts.
  • Build and maintain financial evaluation tools as required.
  • Collaborate with Network Revenue Forecasting, Revenue Management, Scheduling, Controlling, and Airport Development teams to ensure cross-functional alignment of network planning decisions.
  • Assess competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths/weaknesses, and recommend actions based on risks and opportunities.
  • Assess and interpret market, economic, and industry trends and their impact on route choices.
  • Manage the airport cost mix to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs.
  • Collaborate with the Government Affairs department on regulatory affairs of the network.
  • Continuously seek improvements and developments in the tools and processes of the Network area with an innovative and process-driven mindset.

Experience

3-5 years of overall working experience with 2 years in network planning, revenue management, or a similar analytical role is an advantage.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, economics, or another numerical subject.
