We're hiring a Segment Accounting Manager to lead a team and help them deliver strong, reliable results each month. You'll guide and review core accounting work journal entries, reconciliations, and the close, making sure it's accurate and completed on time, while helping your team build their skills. You'll also be responsible for the numbers for your segment, digging into the results to understand what's driving performance and how it changes over time. We engage directly with finance and other accounting teams to explain differences between actuals and plan in a clear, straightforward way.

A day in the life of an Accounting Manager on the Segment Controllership team:

  • Financial Accounting, Reporting & Analysis, and Compliance
    • Provide accurate and timely segment-level financial data and supporting documentation to the SEC Reporting team, ensuring completeness and alignment with external reporting requirements.
    • Own the close process within your area, including reviewing accounting entries, balance verifications, and supporting analyses.
    • Review financial results and clearly explain key drivers behind deviations from actuals to plan.
    • Apply accounting standards under US GAAP alongside company policies, and support the review of technical accounting topics as needed.
    • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company reporting requirements.
  • Audit & SOX
    • Handle internal and external audit support, including preparation of audit documentation in response to auditor inquiries.
    • Implement recommendations and mitigation plans in response to audit findings and outcomes.
    • Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of SOX controls and address any identified deficiencies.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork
    • We work closely with regional Commercial Finance teams to understand business activity and how accounting policies apply.
    • We connect Commercial Finance and Technical Accounting, helping information flow clearly and questions get resolved quickly.
  • Team Management
    • Lead and support a team of accounting professionals, building a strong connection between business operations and accounting outcomes.
    • Develop the team's understanding of how day-to-day activities translate into accounting results and align with accounting standards.
    • Find opportunities to standardize and automate processes end-to-end, while guiding the team to adopt and improve these ways of working.
    • Provide mentorship and regular feedback to help team members build skills and grow in their roles.

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of dynamic accounting and finance experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance; IFRS familiarity is a plus.
  • Experience with large ERP systems (SAP and/or Blackline preferred).
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with equivalent experience considered; CPA, ACA, or ACCA preferred.
  • Ability to lead and develop others, build strong working relationships, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with validated judgment and the ability to clearly connect financial results to business activity.
