We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within an international business, working on technically challenging and rewarding projects within the lift industry. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions, supporting both project delivery and sales functions, while working closely with internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site feasibility studies and design surveys of lift shafts and motor rooms
- Develop engineering solutions compliant with industry standards
- Provide technical support to the sales team, including design validation
- Manage individual project orders in line with KPIs and ISO procedures
- Produce accurate and detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks (or similar), including:
- Product designs
- Fabrication drawings
- Customer approval drawings
- Assembly drawings and general arrangements
- Build and maintain 3D model libraries for parts and assemblies
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including attending customer meetings
- Support procurement, cost analysis, and material selection
- Ensure compliance with company processes, systems (CRM/ERP), and procedures

What We’re Looking For
- Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering or design discipline
- Experience in CAD / SolidWorks (2D & 3D) – essential
- Previous experience in the lift industry is advantageous (training provided)
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Willingness to travel across the UK when required
- English language speaking skills
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
