Our team in Bournemouth is looking for a Family Worker to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse client group. If you are enthusiastic, creative and passionate about helping others, we’d love to hear from you.

Bournemouth’s Community Drug and Alcohol Service provides a free, confidential and friendly service to anyone experiencing challenges with drugs or alcohol. As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year.

As a Family Worker you will be providing support and advice to families in relation to substance misuse and its impact on the family. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help.

It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with clients and their families, helping them get their lives back to where they want them to be, whilst managing an active caseload and ensuring continuity of care. We are determined and always professional in our approach to each and every case and we never judge, we're just here to help.

This is a part time, permanent role with a salary of £25,000 per annum (pro rata). The working hours are Monday - Friday with Monday evening working. We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people. You will also be organised with excellent time management skills.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have some experience of working in a health, social care, family or related setting
  • have some experience of delivering services in a community setting
  • have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
  • have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
  • be confident in safeguarding the children, young people and adults that we work with
  • be flexible with your working hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed

Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. We welcome applications from those with lived experience.

  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • An extra day off for your birthday or a special occasion of your choice
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave
  • 2 days paid volunteer leave per year
  • Auto-enrollment into We Are With You’s pension scheme
  • Access to a Blue Light Card - giving you great savings on big high-street and online brands
