What you will be doing:
- Provide emotional support and positive behaviour management tailored to each person's individual needs.
- Support children and young people with daily living activities, promoting independence and confidence.
- Assist with meal preparation and mealtimes, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities that encourage social development, life skills, and positive experiences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment.
- Record care activities, incidents, and progress notes accurately in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support the people we support to attend appointments, education settings, and community activities, while ensuring their safety, well-being, and supervision always.
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for the young people in your care.
What we need from you:
- Previous experience within a Children's Residential Care setting (preferred but not essential).
- Experience supporting young people with LD.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive and resilient approach.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred but not essential).
- Full UK driving licence (preferred).
