We are looking for a Designated Safeguarding Lead in a state‑of‑the‑art SEMH primary school, Hinckley House, part of the Witherslack Group. This role reports directly to the Head Teacher and is integral to safeguarding, wellbeing, and child protection.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safeguarding strategy and liaise with statutory and non‑statutory agencies, parents/carers, and staff on wellbeing, child protection, and safeguarding matters.
  • Provide support, advice, and expertise to the team on safeguarding issues.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team and regional Witherslack Group colleagues to promote continuous development.
  • Maintain a comprehensive safeguarding portfolio and ensure compliance with policy and legislation.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
  • Comprehensive portfolio of CPD related to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem‑resolution skills.
  • Empathetic approach to working with children with complex needs.
  • Full UK driving licence.
