The Private Client and Tax division provides sophisticated legal advice to some of the world’s most successful people, including aristocracy, entrepreneurs, industrialists, senior executives, celebrities, artists, philanthropists and other prominent figures. The team serves clients with UK connections and also operates internationally across Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and wider Europe in trust and succession planning.
The Associate will join the London‑based U.S. Private Client and Tax team to advise a broad mix of international high net worth individuals, families, family offices, closely held businesses and investment structures on U.S. and international tax, trust and estate planning.
Responsibilities- Advise a broad mix of international high net worth individuals, families, family offices, closely held businesses and investment structures on U.S. and international tax, trust and estate planning.
- Provide advice on international trust and estate planning, expatriation planning, pre‑immigration planning, cross‑border philanthropy and passive and active investment structuring.
- Research and analyse Internal Revenue Code and regulations and prepare technical advice memoranda.
- Draft wills and trusts and communicate directly with clients.

- Must already be admitted to practice law in the U.S.
- Must be 2nd – 5th year Associate (preferably with a Juris Doctor).

- Prior work experience outside of the U.S., particularly London.
- Desire to combine drafting work with tax planning covering a range of estate/gift, personal tax, corporate and partnership tax scenarios.
- Hybrid working (a minimum of 2‑3 days per week on average in the office).
