Withernsea High School is located in the pleasant, rural seaside town of Withernsea and serves the population of the town and surrounding villages.

We seek a well-qualified and enthusiastic individual to take a lead role and be responsible for overseeing technical support provided by a small team of technicians in the Science Department.

You will have excellent communication skills together with a keen desire to learn and be able to use your own initiative and common sense. A background in Science is required as is professional laboratory experience or working as a school technician.

Science teachers and technicians are enthusiastic, knowledgeable, hardworking and committed to providing the best Science education possible for students.

Hours: 15 per week, Monday and Tuesday during term-time plus 5 training days.
You will also be required to cover some breaks and lunchtimes as part of the contracted hours.

This post forms part of a full-time role which has been divided under a job share arrangement. Should your job share partner resign you will be offered the remaining part of the role. If you decline the offer every effort will be made to fill the job share vacancy by normal recruitment procedures. However, if this is unsuccessful and the school requires a full-time post to carry out duties after considering alternative arrangements, your employment with the school will be terminated unless suitable alternative employment can be found via the redeployment process.
