Witan Solicitors is a specialist litigation firm based in Birmingham. We handle complex, high-value disputes in civil litigation, commercial law, insolvency, employment, and family law, often in the High Court. Employment work within the firm is growing, and we are now hiring an Employment Paralegal to support and help expand this department. This is an employment-first role, with the opportunity to assist on civil litigation matters when capacity requires.

The Role
You will support employment litigation matters from the outset, including:
- ACAS Early Conciliation and settlement support
- Tribunal claim support: ET1/ET3 assistance, case management directions, disclosure and bundles
- Drafting correspondence, research notes, chronologies, and supporting witness statement preparation
- Managing deadlines, file hygiene and client communications
- Supporting civil litigation overflow when required (as part of a wider litigation team)
This role is not for someone who needs constant supervision. You will be expected to pick things up quickly, use initiative, and add value fast.
Academics / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Completed a Law degree (LLB or equivalent)
- Completed LPC or SQE1 (SQE2 preferred but not essential)
- Studied an Employment Law module at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level (module completed and assessed)
Experience
You should have:
- Prior paralegal experience (employment preferred) or demonstrable hands-on experience in a litigation role
- Familiarity with employment disputes and tribunal process (or strong litigation aptitude and willingness to learn quickly)
- Excellent written communication and attention to detail
- Confidence managing deadlines and working at pace
- Proficiency with Outlook/Word and comfort learning case-management systems
