We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Director to join WNE's regional team in London. The successful candidate will drive strategic growth initiatives, develop and maintain strong client relationships, and build partnerships across WNE's business domains. This is a senior role suited for a commercially astute professional with deep industry connections, technical insight into EPC/EPCIC and fabrication projects, and a proven track record in converting large-scale energy opportunities into contracts. This position reports directly to the Regional Manager and involves regular international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute WNE's business strategy across Europe & Africa.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities across FLNG, FPSO, onshore LNG, petrochemicals, FSRU, floating power, CCUS, and green hydrogen and ammonia.
- Build and sustain relationships with IOCs, EPCs, operators, developers, and government stakeholders.
- Coordinate with WNE's headquarters in Shanghai and regional teams to prepare competitive bids and tailored proposals.
- Support tendering and RFQ processes, ensuring alignment between client needs and internal capabilities.
- Establish and lead strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and alliances to strengthen WNE's position in target markets.
- Provide market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and strategic insights to support executive decision-making.
- Represent WNE at key industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Lead commercial negotiations and contribute to regional growth planning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15 years' experience in business development or commercial roles within energy, oil & gas, or offshore engineering.
- Proven record in winning and managing large-scale EPC/EPCIC projects or strategic partnerships.
- Strong network across the energy sectors in Europe and Africa.
- Deep understanding of commercial, technical, and contractual structures in conventional and low-carbon energy.
- Experience with Asian or other global engineering and fabrication organizations is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA or postgraduate degree preferred).
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with international teams.
- Willingness to travel across Europe, Africa, and other regions as required.
