Heathcote House Nursery, The Old College, Southbroom Rd, Devizes. Are you passionate about nurturing young minds and creating a magical learning environment where children flourish? Then this could be the dream role for you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Level 2 or 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly Nursery team. You should be experienced in planning inspiring activities for children aged 0-5 to explore and enjoy.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

  • Hours: 40 hours per week, 4.5 days
  • Contract type: Permanent role
  • Salary: £12.60 – £12.80 per hour based on qualifications and experience. (Up to £26,624.00 pa)
  • 50% fee discount for the sessions your child attends on the days you work in the nursery

  • 20 days holiday per year, rising by one day a year to a maximum of 25, for every year of employment

Responsibilities:

  • Create a stimulating environment for children and oversee the planning and implementation of activities.
  • Liaise with and fully support your age group leader giving voice to any concerns from your team that you feel unable to resolve adequately for the benefit of the children.
  • Support your team by making sure that they have the opportunity to bring forward ideas, or raise concerns, at an appropriate time (e.g. by holding short but regular meetings).
  • Ensure the overall smooth running of your team for the benefit of the children.
  • Ensure that targets are met – as agreed with Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager.
  • Ensure that records are kept accurately, in a timely fashion, and safely stored.
  • Attend staff meetings and parents' evenings as required; participate in planning and implementing projects; and offer suggestions for new activities.
  • Undertake training with a view to furthering knowledge/experience, or to refresh existing skills. Such training to be requested and paid for by Heathcote House (see terms of employment).
  • Agree to the policies and procedures as set out in the handbook, and operate them to the best of your ability.
  • Adhere to all nursery policies and, in particular, to those on safeguarding, equal opportunities, health and safety, and food hygiene.

Skills:

  • A thorough working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
  • A completed Early Years Level 3 qualification.
  • The ability to create a stimulating environment that motivates children to learn independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children and our parents.
  • The ability to plan, assess and carry out children's observations.
  • The ability to discreetly attend to young children's toileting needs.
