Discover Activity Camps offer an action-packed school holiday activity programme guaranteed to provide children with unbeatable weeks of fun! Based at some of the most beautiful school locations in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, the camps offer amazing facilities to keep children busy and entertained during the school holidays. We understand the importance of creating inspiring school holiday programmes. The fantastic facilities we have allow us to deliver school holidays full of exciting experiences and new adventures. From our curated programme of fun themed activities and creative crafts, to our heart racing programme of sports and outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone during the school holidays!
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
- Hours: Camps run throughout the holidays from 07:45 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Staff will be contacted in advance of each holiday period to confirm availability.
- Staff are permitted to a 30-minute paid break during the day.
- 0 hour contract
- Salary: £14.50 per hour/£145 per day. Subject to change April 26.

Overview:
In order to create an amazing experience for our children, our staff are absolutely critical to our success each and every Holiday. One thing all of our staff has in common is that they all want to make an impact in the lives of children. They understand what it takes to be a role model and know that while working with children is incredibly fun, it is also hard work and challenging. Still, being a Manager at Discover Activity Camps is one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have. Our staff have the ability to be mature, responsible and dependable while also being fun and easy going!
We are looking for applicants for school holiday periods. February and May Half Term, Easter Holidays and Summer Holidays. Staff will be contacted in advance of each holiday period to confirm availability.
Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the overall well-being and happiness of the children in your camp.
- To ensure the delivery of a program of daily activities suitable for the age range of the children in a safe environment.
- To promote the ethos of Discover Activity Camps, providing an exceptional role model to the assistants and children in the camp.
- Ensuring the correct equipment is to hand for the day of activities.
- Promotion of exceptional safeguarding practices at all times, including awareness or recording and reporting procedure in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy.
- To be responsible for the security of the premises in which activities are undertaken.
- To ensure that buildings and rooms are adequately secured upon departure through the use of door codes and locks.
- Ensure all children are signed in and collected through the use of a Safe word.
- Provide a friendly welcome to all holiday club attendees, meeting and greeting parents.
- Accompanying children around the site to different activities, supervising lunch and supervising open play sessions.
- To plan staff breaks throughout the day and provide cover accordingly.

- You will have demonstrable experience working within a Holiday Club and be able to run a day in camp successfully.
- You will have the ability to adapt to different situations and think creatively.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience coaching, teaching or instructing young people.
- You will have experience of being able to work in a busy environment as part of a friendly team, interfacing with parents, staff and most importantly the children.
- We also want to hear about any experience you have delivering other activities such as arts/dance/music/computing/science.
- We would love to hear about any childcare/educational play certificates you may have!
