Early Years Practitioner

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Level 2 or 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of children aged 2 to 5 years, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment.

Cricklade Manor Prep’s Nursery is a happy, friendly and nurturing nursery. Here, children aged 2-4 thrive, making friends, having fun and learning. Our cheerful classrooms are light and roomy, but it is the space and greenery of the walled garden and Forest School that the children really love, and we certainly make the most of it.

Within easy reach of Swindon and Cirencester, we are open year round from 7.30am-6pm, providing affordable, high-quality learning and adventures. We were rated ‘Excellent’ at our last inspection, the equivalent of Ofsted ‘Outstanding’.

Reports to: Nursery Manager

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

This is a term time only role, 3 days per week (24 hours).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate, creative, and stimulating activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Promote children’s independence, confidence, and well-being.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment.
  • Contribute to the planning and evaluation of the curriculum.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and nursery events.

Person Specification:

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (essential).
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Paediatric First Aid certification.
  • Experience in a forest school setting
  • Special educational needs (SEN) experience.
