Based at some of the most beautiful school locations in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, the camps offer amazing facilities to keep children busy and entertained during the school holidays.
We understand the importance of creating inspiring school holiday programmes. The fantastic facilities we have allow us to deliver school holidays full of exciting experiences and new adventures. From our curated programme of fun themed activities and creative crafts, to our heart racing programme of sports and outdoor adventures, there’s something for everyone during the school holidays!
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
- Hours: 7:45am – 5:30pm. Mon – Fri. Fixed term contract
- Salary: £13.50 per hour (21 and over) £10 per hour (20 and under). To be reviewed in April 2026.

Overview:
In order to create an amazing experience for our children, our staff are absolutely critical to our success each and every Holiday. One thing all of our staff has in common is that they all want to make an impact in the lives of children. They understand what it takes to be a role model and know that while working with children is incredibly fun, it is also hard work and challenging. Still, being an Instructor at Discover Activity Camps is one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have. Our staff have the ability to be mature, responsible and dependable while also being fun and easy going!
Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the overall wellbeing and happiness of the children in your care.
- To help deliver a program of daily activities suitable for the age range of the children in a safe environment.
- Follow activity plans and instructions provided by the Camp Manager.
- Lead and supervise a group of children during daily activities, games, and outings.
- To promote the ethos of Discover Activity Camps, providing an exceptional role model to children in your care.
- Promotion of exceptional safeguarding practices at all times, including awareness or recording and reporting procedure in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy.
- To be responsible for the security of the premises in which activities are undertaken.
- To ensure that buildings and rooms are adequately secured upon departure through the use of door codes and locks.
- Provide a friendly welcome to all holiday club attendees, meeting and greeting parents, signing children in at the start of the day and out at the end of the day.
- Accompanying children around the site to different activities, supervising lunch and supervising open play sessions.
Person Specification:
If you have worked in a Holiday Club environment before that would be great but don’t worry if you haven’t! Experience coaching young persons’ sports is desirable. We also want to hear about any experience you have delivering other activities such as arts/dance/music/computing/science. We would love to hear about any childcare/educational play certificates you may have!
Skills:
- You will be able to work in a busy environment as part of a friendly team, interfacing with parents, staff and most importantly the children.
- You will have the ability to adapt to different situations and think creatively.
- Enthusiastic with a genuine passion for working with children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
