This role plays a critical part in supporting transformation initiatives for a leading global customer in the life sciences and manufacturing domain. The consultant will contribute to high-impact projects involving advanced scheduling and supply chain optimization, with access to cutting-edge SAP technologies. Working alongside global teams, the role offers opportunities to influence strategic process improvements and deliver scalable solutions across diverse geographies.

Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, including Finance, Tax, and IT teams, to gather and document detailed business requirements for General Ledger (GL), Asset Accounting (AA), Month-End/Year-End Closing, and Tax processes.
  • Analyze existing financial processes and map them to SAP best practices. Suggest improvements and tailor SAP solutions to fit the business needs.
  • Configuration of GL master data, chart of accounts, account groups, cost centers, and internal orders, Asset accounting, Period end closing process, VAT, GST, Withholding tax.
  • Ensure proper integration with other SAP modules like SAP Materials Management (MM), SAP Finance (FI), and SAP Controlling (CO) to ensure smooth workflows and data flow.
  • Lead or participate in interface development and integration projects, ensuring robust data flow between SAP and external systems.
  • Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones, ensuring effective communication and timely project delivery.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and drive continuous process improvements in production planning and execution.
  • Engage with multiple sites & resolve the issues that are plant/site specific.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP FI – GL, AA, and CO.
  • Good understanding of operational accounting processes.
  • Good knowledge on asset accounting, Depreciation calculation, asset acquisition, asset shutdown.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and propose SAP-based solutions.
  • Knowledge on SD-FI and MM-FI integration.
  • Knowledge on cost center, cost element, internal orders, profit center and have knowledge on COPA.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance (local GAAP, regulatory reporting).
  • Experience in tax reporting functions in SAP, including VAT/GST returns, withholding tax, and Intrastat reporting.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • SAP S/4HANA Finance knowledge is a plus.
  • Project management experience in SAP-related implementations or system upgrades.
  • Familiarity with third-party tax solutions integrated with SAP (e.g., Vertex, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE).
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori for simplified access to SAP functionalities.
  • Experience with audit processes and interaction with external auditors.
  • Experience in international tax compliance for multiple countries.
