WHAT'S THIS ROLE ALL ABOUT?

At Wiser, we build world-class careers sites and intranets for clients across a variety of industries, including consumer, fashion, media, and travel. Our Product Team is made up of Product Designers, Developers, and Product Operations specialists, all working as a highly collaborative, agile team. We're looking for an experienced mid to senior-level UX/UI Designer to join us. The role will support our Product Design Team to audit and design career sites for a series of upcoming global projects.

WHAT WILL YOU SPEND YOUR TIME DOING?

  • Conducting comprehensive UX audits to assess user behaviour, identify usability issues, and evaluate the effectiveness of our clients' existing websites.
  • Translating insights into tangible design outputs, through sitemaps and high-fidelity wireframes.
  • Owning the end-to-end UI design process, from concept development to delivery and iteration, ensuring all outputs fit the client's branding and brief and meet the highest standard.
  • Presenting design concepts and research findings to internal teams and clients, articulating design decisions and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborating closely with the Product Design Team, driving creative solutions and setting the standard for scalable visual systems.
  • Reviewing implemented work against designs and providing clear feedback to our Product Developers to ensure outputs align with design quality.
  • Championing accessibility and inclusivity in every aspect of design, exceeding compliance standards and delivering experiences that resonate with all users.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a UX/UI Product Designer, you'll bring 4+ years of experience designing digital products and websites, with a strong grasp of both user experience (UX) methodologies and user interface (UI) design principles and the ability to lead projects. You'll have a strong portfolio that demonstrates a record of delivering high-quality design solutions.

We are seeking a candidate who can drive creative innovation across UI design concepts, delivering fresh, forward-thinking ideas that elevate usability and visual impact. The ideal candidate will produce pitch-ready designs at a standard that resonates with global brands such as On Running and L'Oréal.

UX Design Expertise:

  • Able to synthesise research insights into personas, heuristic reports, and user flows to conceptualise findings.
  • Experience in developing sitemaps and wireframes to translate insights into early-stage design concepts.
  • Comfortable analysing website performance metrics to make informed design decisions and improve usability.
  • Conducting UX/UI Audits.
  • Analysing data sets and collating design-centric key findings.

UI Design Skills:

  • High proficiency in Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of visual design principles, including typography, colour theory, and grid systems.
  • Proven ability to design visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for websites and web applications across different devices and screen sizes.
  • Confident in applying motion and interactive design principles to animate prototypes and bring ideas to life.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and a commitment to inclusive design.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, project managers, and account directors to understand project requirements and goals.
  • Confident presenting to both internal and external stakeholders, clearly and persuasively explaining design rationale.
  • Receptive to feedback, with the ability to incorporate it into design iterations.
  • Communicates proactively when timelines or blockers arise, ensuring alignment across teams.

Problem-Solving & Delivery:

  • Able to identify UX challenges and propose creative and scalable solutions.
  • Balances user needs with business goals, budget, timeline, and technical restrictions.
  • Comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and prioritising tasks effectively, working as part of an agile and fast-moving team.
  • Experienced in maintaining organised version control, component libraries, and clear naming conventions to facilitate smooth development handover.
  • Awareness of basic resource management fundamentals, including time management, effort estimation, and time tracking.

Growth Mindset:

  • Proactively seeking new inspiration, techniques, and elevations to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in the UX/UI space.
  • Maintains a strong portfolio showcasing your end-to-end design process and impact.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience across the Adobe Creative Cloud apps to support broader visual and motion design needs.
  • Experience in the discovery and validation of design concepts with users, e.g. usability testing.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Trello, Jira, and Asana.
  • Previous experience in delivering workshops and face-to-face sessions with clients.
  • Client management experience, building relationships, and clearly communicating.
