A growing single-family office is seeking a highly organised, commercially minded and proactive Business Manager to support across a diverse portfolio of operating businesses, investments and strategic initiatives. This is a broad and hands-on role offering significant exposure across multiple business functions. Acting as a trusted partner to the principal, you will help oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate strategic projects, support new ventures and ensure the smooth running of both existing and emerging businesses across the group. The successful candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution whilst working closely with internal teams, portfolio businesses and external advisers. This role is ideally suited to a commercially minded operator who enjoys working across multiple businesses and functions, rather than a specialist focused on a single discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the principal in the management and coordination of multiple operating businesses and investment ventures.
  • Drive operational improvements, implement scalable processes and identify efficiencies across the group.
  • Lead and coordinate strategic projects, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives and timelines.
  • Support the launch, development and integration of new business ventures and initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators, dashboards, and reporting frameworks across portfolio businesses.
  • Work closely with finance, legal, HR and external advisers to ensure effective business operations and governance.
  • Assist with recruitment activities and organisational planning across the group.
  • Prepare management reports, business updates, presentations and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Identify operational challenges and commercial opportunities, implementing solutions where appropriate.
  • Support budgeting, resource planning and business performance reviews.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, service providers, consultants and key external partners.
  • Assist with acquisitions, restructures, business transformation projects, and other ad hoc initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Business Manager, Operations Manager, Commercial Manager, Chief of Staff, Founder Associate, Strategy & Operations Manager or similar role.
  • Experience working within a Family Office, Private Equity-backed business, investment environment, property business, SME group or founder-led organisation is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions, including operations, finance, HR, recruitment and strategic projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to execute effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence interacting with senior executives, founders, and external advisers.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and business reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting business growth, operational scaling, acquisitions, or new venture launches would be advantageous.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership and drive initiatives independently.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing family office and play a key role in supporting the development and success of a diverse portfolio of businesses and investments while working closely with entrepreneurial principals and senior decision-makers. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, reaffirming our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and welcoming applications regardless of race, religion, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
