Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper – Property Development – Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire

We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to join a growing property investment and development business based in Rickmansworth.

This is a hands‑on position responsible for the day‑to‑day bookkeeping and financial administration of a busy property portfolio.

The successful candidate will be confident using accounting software, comfortable working with large volumes of financial data, and capable of managing their workload with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices and allocate costs accurately within the accounting system.
  • Match bank transactions against invoices, receipts and payments.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Process staff expenses and prepare payments.
  • Reconcile customer and supplier accounts.
  • Assist with rental income reconciliations and landlord statements.
  • Monitor outstanding rent payments and report arrears where required.
  • Support the wider finance function with general bookkeeping and administrative duties.

About you

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Quick Books, Xero or Free Agent
