We are an international clean energy technology company, backed by a global engineering group of over 16,000 people with experience across solar PV EPC, energy storage, and smart energy management. We are now establishing our UK project delivery capability. This is a founding role. You will be the first project management professional in our UK team — building structure, not inheriting it. If you are someone who creates order rather than waiting for it, read on.
Responsibilities
- Project delivery
- Own the full lifecycle of C&I rooftop and small ground-mount solar PV projects — from contract handover through design coordination, construction, commissioning, and client handover.
- Manage DNO grid connection applications (G99/G98) end-to-end: documentation, submission, tracking, and direct liaison with UK Power Networks, WPD, NGED and other DNOs.
- Execute CDM 2015 obligations as Principal Contractor representative: F10 notification, health and safety file, and ongoing site compliance.
- Assess planning requirements and manage the MCS certification process.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage local subcontractors across the UK — electrical, civil, and access works.
- Develop construction programmes, chair site progress meetings, and manage Variation Orders.
- Coordinate with our international procurement and engineering teams on equipment specifications and delivery schedules.
- Implement ITP quality inspection processes and manage HOLD point sign-offs.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for clients throughout delivery; manage expectations proactively and communicate issues early with solutions attached.
- Collect structured market intelligence — subcontractor pricing, DNO patterns, client feedback — and feed it back to inform our UK commercial strategy.
- Support the development of UK project delivery SOPs and a local supply chain database.
- Provide business requirements input to our global team developing a proprietary energy management platform.
Requirements
Essential
- Full, valid UK or EU driving licence; willingness to travel nationally.
- Independently delivered ≥3 complete C&I solar PV projects end-to-end, with total capacity ≥500kWp under your direct responsibility.
- Hands-on experience submitting and managing at least one DNO grid connection application (G99 or G98) — you prepared the documentation and tracked it yourself.
- Ability to produce professional written English independently: client reports, variation order correspondence, subcontractor contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to build structure and process where none exists.
Strong preference
- Background in a UK solar EPC or developer company with hands-on site delivery experience.
- CDM 2015 experience as Principal Contractor representative.
- Track record of building local subcontractor networks.
- NEC4 or JCT contract management experience, including Variation Orders and compensation events.
Not required
- Experience on large-scale utility projects (>50MW) — this role is C&I focused.
- A perfect CV — we are interested in what you have actually done.
The honest version: We are building our UK operations from the ground up. The first project is not yet signed. There is no established playbook to follow.
What we offer in return: the backing of an experienced international group with EPC operations across Europe, a proprietary technology platform in development, a global procurement network, and a team committed to making this work. If the business develops as we intend, this role will grow with it. We are not making promises about timelines — but we are looking for someone who sees that open road as the point.
