Job Description
WHAT’S THE ROLE?
Wise Business is entering an exciting new era. We’re looking for an experienced, senior B2B events manager to help us launch and deliver successful virtual, hybrid and in-person events that position Wise as the best financial solution for businesses with global money needs and ambitions to scale fast.
We need an organised, creative and can-do events manager who can help us plan and deliver a pipeline of owned and external events in the UK and Europe, based in our office in London. Occasional travel and work in evenings required.
We’re looking for someone with demonstrable experience of planning and delivering successful B2B events end to end; from logistics and budget to creative planning, making this position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and excels at multi-project management.
Whether it’s scaling up our online webinar series, organising a roundtable dinner for founders or co-ordinating brand sponsorship opportunities at major industry events like Sifted, you’ll have the goal of engaging, nurturing and acquiring new business customers from a growing range of verticals including startups, SaaS, consulting and e-commerce.
In addition to excellent industry knowledge – ideally in the payments, FinTech or business solutions space – you’ll need experience of delivering B2B events on time and to budget. We need someone with a knack for delivering the kind of events that will get our prospects through the door and keep them coming back for more.
Reporting into the Business Content Marketing Manager you’ll be embedded in Wise’s Business marketing squad with plenty of design and content resource and you’ll have the opportunity to work in a truly dynamic and cross-functional marketing team dedicated to the growth of Wise for Business.
You’ll get close to the audience you’re creating content for, gathering insights on what drives impact and makes our prospective customers tick.
You’ll build on your learnings to plan and deliver world-class events that amplifies awareness for the Wise Business brand, positions us as a thought leader in scaling a business internationally and guides prospects down the funnel from invite to conversion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning and Execution : Plan, create and deliver a range of B2B events targeting founders and key decision makers in fast-growing startups and small to medium sized businesses, with a focus on the SaaS, consulting and e-commerce ’ll be responsible for managing all aspects from conception to budget and completion, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and brand standards.
Event content : You’ll work closely with our Business content team to plan themes, agenda topics and speaker lineups that will resonate with our target audiences.
Budget and Resource Management : You’ll need to develop and track event budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide regular financial reports to ensure cost-effective execution and optimal resource allocation across all event types.
Logistics and Vendor Coordination : Manage end-to-end event logistics including invites, RSVPs, venue selection, catering and transport arrangements, booth design, AV requirements, and supplier relationships. You’ll need to conduct site visits and oversee all events in person to ensure seamless delivery.
Virtual and Hybrid Event Management : Oversee technical aspects of virtual and hybrid events, including webinar platform management, demo setup and speaker briefing calls, and ensure optimal audience engagement across digital channels.
Calendar and Project Management : Maintain a comprehensive events calendar, build detailed project plans, and manage multiple workstreams while ensuring high attention to detail and timely delivery.
Stakeholder Management : Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, agencies, vendors, executive leadership and senior external speakers, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the event planning process.
Marketing Integration : Support the broader marketing team with event-related initiatives, including webinar production, presentation development, and audience acquisition strategies.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU?
A love of B2B events planning and a deep understanding of what makes an event stand out in a crowded marketplace – whether it’s content and thought leadership on cutting-edge trends, live demos or an unmissable venue, our prospects want these events to add real value.
We’re looking for someone who has experience of delivering best-in-class events centred around demand generation and thought leadership, ideally in the business solutions or payments space. An understanding of the needs of (and how to speak to) financial professionals, business owners and senior stakeholders is essential.
You’ll thrive on the challenge of planning events from conception to completion, juggling deadlines, logistics, budget and comms to ensure we’re tracking against key milestones in the run up to the event and hitting our targets for registration and conversion.
Strategic mindset — you’re able to align events strategies to business objectives with proven success.
Independent planner — you’re able to work autonomously; by this we mean you’re self-sufficient and can independently plan and validate your own ideas. You’ll be supported by our business content team but will be expected to be able to manage and report on projects end to end.
Collaboration — an appetite to work closely with many different parts of the Wise organisation as well building strong partnerships with external speakers and vendors.
Experience delivering a broad range of events — proven ability to plan and deliver multiple events on a regular cadence, at pace. You’re able to drive sign ups for webinars, book private dining rooms for roundtable dinners and breakfasts, host networking events and co-ordinate sponsorship and branding opportunities at industry events.
Process driven — You thrive on managing multiple workstreams to ensure events are delivered on time and to budget, with a focus on ensuring registrations translate into attendance and conversions.
