As our Treasury Controller for Operational Risk, you'll be at the heart of our mission-building a safer, more resilient financial network for millions of global customers. This newly created role offers you the chance to make a genuine difference as we scale up, launch new products, and prepare for our US listing. Your work will touch nearly every part of Wise-enabling ambitious growth, keeping our platform secure, and building trust with millions of people and businesses worldwide.
Your Mission
- Shape the future of Treasury: You will have the opportunity to design and build our Treasury operational risk framework to allow us to identify, measure and report on operational risk.
- Drive Change Through Insight: Identify, measure, and report on operational risks-using your expertise to develop impactful Key Risk Indicators and dashboards for Wise leadership.
- Own End-to-End Solutions: Take ownership as you deliver process improvements, coordinate with teams to implement and test business continuity plans, and help embed risk management and effective control environments in everything we do.
- Fuel Innovation: Partner with world-class engineers and product leaders to streamline processes and support the launch of game-changing financial products.
- Lead with Influence: Chair our Treasury Operational Risk Committee, driving group-level discussions, shaping risk culture, and ensuring Wise remains resilient for our customers-and compliant on the global stage.
- Make a Company-Wide Impact: Directly support regulatory submissions and critical audits as we transition to SOX compliance and public markets.
Qualifications
- Practical experience designing, implementing, and monitoring operational risk controls within fast-paced or high-volume environments.
- A strong understanding of risk frameworks, internal controls, and delivering on compliance requirements (FIN, SOX, etc.).
- The confidence to influence, challenge, and collaborate with stakeholders from across Treasury, Product, Operations, and Engineering.
- Commercial acumen: you know how to balance risk with speed and innovation.
- Passion for problem-solving and delivering change-always with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
- Prior experience in Treasury, Finance, or regulated environments is a plus but not essential; curiosity and willingness to learn matter most.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; data skills (SQL/Python) a plus.
