Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Wise helps people and businesses send money abroad, spend abroad, and make and receive international payments. The mission is to enable money without borders, with transparency and convenience in how people pay and get paid. The High Volume team sits within Send and focuses on customers who drive a large share of cross-currency volume and growth. This role addresses opportunities to improve conversion and retention for that high-value segment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design direction for the High Volume space — setting strategy, driving quality, and shaping the experience from first impression to long-term loyalty.
  • Bring clarity and confidence to complex, high-stakes journeys — translate requests from customers sending £100k+ into product experiences that deliver predictability, reassurance, and control.
  • Collaborate across a wide surface — verification and compliance flows, transfer planning tools, premium support touchpoints, bulk business payments, and emerging products like FX Forwards.
  • Ground work in customer evidence — work with research and a rich base of qualitative and quantitative insight to make strong, defensible design decisions.
  • Raise the bar for the team — mentor, provide feedback, and help shape how the team works, not just what is shipped.
  • Partner deeply with product and engineering leads to define what is built and why, not just how it looks.

This Role Will Give You The Opportunity To

  • Work on genuinely hard problems with real stakes and real data behind every decision.
  • Own your impact — help shape the strategy, not just respond to it.
  • Ship work that moves meaningful metrics — activation, conversion, and retention for customers entrusting Wise with significant financial moments.
  • Be part of a positive change by helping fix a broken system and putting people and businesses in control of their money.

About You

  • You have a portfolio of well-crafted, high-impact work that solves real problems, especially where trust, complexity, or high stakes are central.
  • You think strategically and execute at the detail level, comfortable guiding direction in reviews and managing micro-interactions.
  • You are a strong collaborator who designs in the open, brings cross-functional partners along, and earns influence through thoughtful reasoning.
  • You practice evidence-based design and can articulate decisions clearly, including when pushing back on something.
  • You have strong visual and interaction design skills and a high bar for fit and finish.

We’re people without borders — without judgment or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, regardless of background. If you have great experience and can articulate your thinking, we’d like to hear from you. We encourage applicants from under-represented demographics.
