About the role
We at Wise Platform(aka Wise for Enterprise) aim to be the infrastructure that powers the world’s money by connecting banks, financial institutions, and enterprises to our next-generation payment solutions. To achieve this we believe we have multiple product teams working on numerous complex products.
Our banks and financial institutions vertical teams aim to help banks to leverage Wise’s infrastructure to offer their customers world class payments products through their own channels. We are working at the forefront of innovation, playing a key role in building scalable and robust systems that power our global payment network.
The teams in our online platforms vertical teams aim to build the world\’s best embedded finance platform for our partners. In the team you will be exposed to a wide range of challenges for our partners from being able to frictionlessly onboard their consumer and business customers to seamlessly moving money across borders.
Our API Experience team strives to ensure we set the industry standard for seamless financial enterprise integrations with Wise Platform’s API experience. Increase efficiency during development and maintenance of integration with our platform by setting the gold-standard for intuitive, consistent, enterprise-ready APIs.
Each team strives to truly understand what our partners need; working hand-in-hand with solutions engineers and business development to create powerful, scalable solutions for major global enterprises and banks
How we work
We operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. We’re looking for people who can step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; drawing on the resources across the rest of the global product tribe.
We need to sustain this growth by continuously iterating on the services we run, with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. We’re looking for an engineer with relevant experience who can analyse complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.
What will you be working on?

Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable services.

Collaborate with teams across Wise to deliver real impact and expand the functionality we can offer to our partners on our platform.

What do you need?

Experience in designing, building public API platforms that others integrate with.

Strong understanding of Java with experience with Spring boot

Experience with microservices and event driven design.

Worked with Kafka or similar messaging systems

Knowledge of relational databases. SQL query optimisation and designing schemas is a plus

A strong product mindset and sense of ownership to enable you to make the best technical decisions and prioritise your work.

Great communication skills to drive projects across teams and be able to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Able to work independently while still being a good team player.
