About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for all things security.
Our team is the Security Engineering Team. We build infrastructure and tooling to lay out golden paths for our product engineering teams to follow. At all times we aim to make the inclusion of high quality security practice a seamless process while also ensuring we are at the vanguard of defence for our customer’s data.
How we work
We operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. We’re looking for people who can step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; drawing on the resources across the rest of the platform tribe.
We need to sustain our growth by continuously iterating on the services we run, with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. We’re looking for an engineer with relevant experience who can understand complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.
What will you be working on?
Working closely with product and platform engineers and finding new ways to protect our customer data and funds
Make embedding security easier for product teams by providing ready-to-use security features ( automated controls, security libraries and services that help maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability)
Designing and building new approaches to improving the overall security posture of Wise
What do you need?
We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!
Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, security concepts to other audiences
Readiness to move fast and adapt quickly to change
Experience with a microservice architecture
Solid Java plus knowledge
You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
You are security-conscious, security-literate and security-driven
Some extra skills that would be great:
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases
Experience working with streaming platforms and event driven architecture
Experience dealing with security audits and threat modelling
Experience with Spring framework, JavaScript, Typescript and React
