The new role sits within our Wise Platform Product Risk and Compliance team, which is part of the 1st Line of Defense (1LOD). This strategic addition comes in response to the rapid growth of our product offerings and the increasing regulatory pressure and expectations we face. This position will be a crucial hands-on role, offering a unique opportunity to impact, support the compliant growth of our product offering, and help save millions of more people money.
Wise has pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Your mission is to enable our Wise Platform team to launch new products and partnerships globally by building and supporting scalable, efficient processes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about scalability in a fast-paced fintech environment, with a talent for collaborating across technical and business teams. If you have a grounding in basic regulatory compliance principles and excel at creating frameworks and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction, this is a perfect fit. This is a first-line role, embedded in the Wise Platform team. Your scope will include:
- Governance, prioritization, and project management: Create the global infrastructure for others to operate within, bringing structure and efficiency to the team. Articulate the value added by governance initiatives to gain stakeholder buy-in and ensure these embed successfully. Build an understanding of compliance and product strategy and priorities by region and product vertical, and challenge where plans do not align with these priorities. Work closely with Wise Platform Product Compliance colleagues and leadership to ensure buy-in to governance approaches and maintain operational efficiency. Collaborate with the wider Product Compliance team and 2LoD stakeholders to maintain alignment.
- Risk, compliance, and product documentation: Coordinate development of global product, compliance, and controls documentation, supported by colleagues within the Wise Platform Product Compliance and wider teams. Understand business/sales teams' needs for compliance-relevant documentation to enhance the commercial proposition and support development of this.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience working in a financial institution, fintech, or consulting firm.
- Approaches tasks in an organized, structured way and can bring this structure to complex problems, ideally with previous hands-on experience as a project, change, or product manager.
- Proven ability to develop and implement structured processes for change management, documentation, and knowledge-sharing across teams.
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize in fast-moving situations, drive and deliver projects from inception to completion.
- Ability to understand and draw out commonalities from regional compliance analysis, with a basic understanding of regulatory permissions, activities, and global licensing.
