We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Squad to make a meaningful dent in global financial crime. Wise moves 145B+ annually across borders and customers love us for how easy and how cheap it is.
This is where you come in. Our vision is clean money without borders. You’ll dive deep into criminal typologies, become an expert in how international crime takes place, and build advanced systems that prevent hyper-targeted, regional, criminal behaviour.
About the AML Squad:
The AML Squad works across our offices in London and Tallinn. We are growing the Squad, and adding new teams to make faster progress in our fight against crime. The AML Squad owns all anti-money laundering, terrorism financing and human exploitation typologies and risks.
As a Squad we currently measure success by two metrics: AML Recall and Cost of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR).
Role scope: AML Prevent Group
The AML Squad is broken down into groups: AML Prevent, AML Detect and Fincrime Intelligence Exchange. This role sits within the AML Prevent Group. You’ll be the Principal Product Manager for the group.
You’ll be responsible for setting strategy for the group and supporting an existing Senior Product Manager and Associate Product Manager, either through line management and/or mentoring.
You’ll own the challenge of:
- Setting new standards of preventing hyper specific and regional crime at scale, in a way that satisfies our regulatory obligations globally and works financially for our business.
- Working with regional compliance officers to deliver global controls that have a strong reputation with local regulators and law enforcement.
- Working with data scientists, product analysts, product designers, product compliance managers, operations leads and software engineers to ensure the team ship the best possible product.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Choose your own path to success - you’ll have the freedom to define the vision and the responsibility for making it happen.
- Be flexible in how and where you work.
- Travel to work with our teams in London and Tallinn as well as meet various partners and organisations globally when needed.
- Inspire teams with your ideas, knowledge and self-starting attitude.
A bit about you:
- You are a seasoned PM who has solved large problems at a scale. At the Principal PM level we expect at least 6 years of direct product management experience, ideally closer to 10.
- You are customer obsessed. You approach every problem from the eyes of the customer.
- You have direct and extensive experience in building machine learning, LLM or other advanced algorithmic or data heavy products.
- Ideally you can go deep with algorithm design and metrics, but also have deep empathy and taste when it comes to the experience of the investigators.
- You can use different data points, both qualitative and quantitative, to identify, diagnose and prioritise problems and opportunities to solve them.
- You have extensive experience of working in a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, analysts, data scientists and researchers.
- You’re hands on, you’d do everything needed to make the team and the product successful.
- You are self driven, you deal well with ambiguity, and you can pave the way for things that have never been done before.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive.
