About the role
Team you’ll be working in: Hold. The Hold team is part of the Global Product tribe. The team has dual nature - on one side we are a product team - we work end to end on customer facing features, such as sharing accounts for multiple people, converting money from currency to currency, adding money to account; on the other side - we own and evolve the main ledger of Wise Account - processing millions of transactions per day and powering Card spending, Direct Debits and other products.
What will you be working on?
- Mission-critical components of Wise Account, their scalability and public APIs
- Product surfaces that customers interact with on a daily basis - currencies, money movements, etc.
- Recently launched Group Spending product - our take on classical Joint Accounts.
What do you need?

- A strong product mindset and passion for user experience, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points
- Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Leading and inspiring your team of engineers to build the prioritise building right things, in the right way
- Ability to deliver work across multiple teams, coordinating your efforts across the organisation. Your work will frequently involve cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to break down complex projects into incremental milestones that deliver customer value
- Experience in developing web applications and distributed systems in a production environment
- Experience working with relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas is a plus
- Knowledge of Java and Spring boot and experience with a messaging system, like Kafka, is a plus

Starting salary: £60,000-£80,000 + RSU
