Overview
As a Senior Backend Engineer on Wise’s Consumer Onboarding team, you will shape the roadmap and technical vision to scale how new customers set up their Wise accounts.
You’ll lead a team of engineers, collaborating with product managers, data analysts, and designers to improve onboarding flows and user journeys.
You’ll own the health of critical systems, drive end‑to‑end high‑impact projects, and mentor others to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities
- Shape roadmap and technical vision with PM and Engineering Lead
- Ensure the team is well‑resourced and able to deliver on roadmaps
- Drive end‑to‑end high‑impact projects from problem understanding to delivery
- Own system health, maintainability, and performance at scale
- Collaborate with senior engineers and engineering leads to align with broader strategy
