Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. Join us as a Platform Engineer in the Risk Domain, where you'll build the systems that make safe, global products possible.
As part of our Platform Engineering team, you'll be at the intersection of Product and Risk – crafting systems that allow internal teams to ship faster, safer, and smarter. You won't just be writing code. You'll be building foundational services that other teams rely on to launch features across global markets. We're building a platform from the ground up, with the support and reach of a product org that ships globally. Your work won't just scale technology – it'll scale trust.
We're designing a centralized risk platform – a system that unifies data and decision-making across identity verification, fraud detection, compliance, and more. This platform acts as the connective tissue between teams working on money movement, regional expansion, and customer safety.
- Enable product teams to launch faster with built-in risk tooling
- Empower risk teams: Give them the systems they need to assess, respond, and protect—without blocking development
- Your work will directly reduce fraud, improve trust, and help us scale safely
We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us.
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages like Java, Python or Go.
- Passion for building at scale – You've worked on high-throughput systems and know what it takes to keep services fast and reliable.
- A desire to build meaningful infrastructure – You care about enabling others, not just shipping your own code.
- Experience working in fintech or high-trust domains like risk, identity, or compliance.
We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.

How to prepare for a job interview at Wise
✨Brush Up on Your Technical Skills
For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.
✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
