About the role
We are looking for a passionate Senior Data Engineer II to join the Treasury Global Liquidity team and help design the foundations of the real-time liquidity observability stack and core business functions served by the team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering key initiatives, contributing to setting the technical strategy of the team, and ensuring we build robust and scalable systems while promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will have a direct and measurable impact across multiple Wise products, owing to the core position of the team’s domain in ensuring our platform scales efficiently.
How do we work?
At Wise, we work in autonomous, cross-functional teams. As an Engineering Lead, you will work in a highly collaborative environment, partnering closely with Product Managers, Analysts, Data Scientists and key stakeholders in our Treasury and Finance teams. Together, you will define the strategy, shape the roadmap, and deliver impactful solutions that advance our mission.
What will you be working on?
- Elevated Customer Experience: Lead the development of a reliable, real-time view of our liquidity for multiple products. Enable the transition of the customer experience from pre-determined restrictions and delays to an intelligent, dynamic model.

- You are comfortable working on a complex and high-stakes domain, such as treasury, payments, or finance, and can guide a team through its unique technical challenges.
- You have a strong sense of ownership and the ability to think beyond technical implementation to understand how your team's work directly impacts business risk, cost, and customer satisfaction.
- You have experience working closely with product and stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize the most impactful work.
- You have demonstrable experience leading and mentoring engineers across diverse domains and levels. You possess the skills to guide towards a high-performing team that is collaborative, supportive, and passionate about achieving goals.
- You lead by example, inspiring your team to produce high-quality, maintainable code and uphold high engineering standards.
- You are an excellent communicator, capable of articulating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
