Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Min fees. Max ease. Full speed.
Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money. As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. For everyone, everywhere.
How should global money work? How do you take a complex, stressful experience and make it simple, calming even? How do you challenge the way it’s always been done? How do you think in a human‑centred way to ship automated systems you’re truly proud of? These are just a few of the challenges an AI Principal Content Designer will work on as part of Wise’s global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system. Right now we move £6 billion every month for over 12 million people, and as we scale, our systems must get more complex to tackle the challenges of adversarial AI.
Your mission: You’ll be figuring out how to harness the potential of AI to scale your impact as a content designer, quickly test and iterate on your ideas with a huge degree of freedom and flexibility, and learn as part of your day‑to‑day work as this technology evolves. You’ll also lead content design strategy in our org, working across the cross‑functional teams that make up FinCrime. You’ll help keep Wise safe and secure for our customers, and balance meeting regulatory obligations with building world‑class customer experiences.
How you’ll contribute:
- Together with your team, you’ll identify ways to use AI to improve the way we support our customers, and with your fellow content designers, how to leverage AI as part of your design toolkit.
- You’ll collaborate with your design, data science, product, and engineering partners to set the vision and strategy, and coach teams to deliver it.
- You’ll be influential in your product area, understanding and prioritising content needs and delivering on the most impactful projects across multiple teams.
- Working with design leaders from other squads, you’ll standardise and systematise experiences for customers.
- Using your content skills, you’ll level up content design quality and maturity across the FinCrime squad.
- Part of the Content Guild, you’ll regularly collaborate with the content community across Wise.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Own the squad’s content end‑to‑end, and steer the strategy and direction.
- Elevate product and content quality — you define what good looks like in the squad, and demonstrate it with everything you ship.
- Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.
About you:
- You’re an accomplished and experienced Principal Content Designer with extensive experience shipping world‑class products.
- Strong interest and foundational understanding of AI, including as part of user‑facing products and as part of your content design process.
- You’re comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity — and can successfully collaborate in this environment.
- You have an eye for quality, and know what to focus on to drive it up.
- You’re influential, inspiring, and able to work with others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment.
- You have willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
- You’re highly empathetic, both to customers and the people you work with.
- You’re a trusted partner, building effective relationships with your peers across the business.
Heads up, this probably isn’t for you if:
- Your experience is mostly in marketing content, advertising, copywriting, journalism or social media – and you have no hands‑on experience of content design or working in UX.
- You’re not comfortable navigating complexity and working in a fast‑paced environment.
For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive. We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences. Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
