In this role you will lead Wise's Technical Accounting function through a critical transformation as the company gears up for a potential US listing.
You will ensure accounting for new products aligns with US GAAP and IFRS while partnering with cross-functional teams to embed policy and controls.
You will mentor a growing team, manage high-stakes reporting workstreams, and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Technical Accounting team and guide the transformation journey
- Oversee analysis and documentation of accounting topics (position papers) and explain positions to stakeholders and auditors
- Collaborate with cross-functional Finance teams to apply IFRS and US GAAP consistently and update policies
- Design scalable processes and systems to support rapid growth and US listing readiness
- Act as primary contact with auditors and other stakeholders for Technical Accounting matters
- Manage high-stakes financial workstreams to ensure compliance for internal and external reporting
- Key requirements
- Very good US GAAP and IFRS knowledge
- Professional finance qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent (beneficial)
- 5+ years in a Technical Accounting or senior advisory/lead role
- Experience with SOX controls framework and improving accounting processes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Robust communication and stakeholder management abilities
