Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

The Business Accounting Integrations & Reporting team is on a mission to simplify financial management for Wise’s business customers. We build the integrations that allow businesses to seamlessly connect their accounting software with Wise, streamlining their reconciliation processes and improving financial reporting. Our work helps our business customers around the world gain better control and insight into their finances.

The team is made up of engineers distributed across London and Budapest and working with other teams in the Business Account Squad. Our ambitious roadmap for 2026/27 includes significantly expanding regional coverage, enhancing our reporting capabilities, and developing a reliable and extensible platform.

In this role you will:

  • Partner with a Product Manager and a cross-functional team to shape the roadmap, set the technical and product vision, and ensure we deliver scalable, resilient solutions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a talented group of engineers — helping them grow, removing blockers, and enabling them to do their best work.
  • Ensure strong execution: clear planning, realistic commitments, and healthy team operations.
  • Stay close to the tech and the product — setting high standards for engineering quality and leading by example.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with other engineering leads across Wise to keep the team aligned with our wider technical strategy and long-term architecture.
  • Own hiring, development, and long-term impact of your team.

What do you need?

  • You have strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP Languages (Java or similar) and modern technology stacks on technologies such as REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems and CI/CD pipelines - you will have to complete technical interviews to showcase your knowledge.
  • Architect for scale and efficiency: Stay close to the tech and the product by leading the design of an integration platform specifically built to streamline the onboarding process and drastically reduce the engineering effort required to roll out new accounting software integrations.
  • You have proven experience in leading and mentoring software engineers. You enjoy helping others grow and succeed.
  • You have a strong product and customer mindset and experience building customer facing products.
  • You have experience working with and building distributed, high scalability systems and microservices architectures.
  • You're a great communicator who can articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience working effectively with cross-functional peers like designers, product managers, and analysts.

What do we offer: Starting salary: 111k - 135k GBP + RSUs
