This job is with Wise, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Min fees. Max ease. Full speed. Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. We are looking for a technically-driven Lead Analyst to join our Regional Financials Marketing Analytics team. This high-impact role is centered around deepening our understanding of marketing growth drivers and scaling the explanation of these drivers across the business. You will focus on identifying strategic opportunities within our Marketing Financials process and bridging the gap between data and execution. By leveraging emerging technologies and AI, you will productionise the technical engine that translates complex performance data into clear, actionable narratives.
Your work will empower the wider marketing and regional teams to understand the why behind the numbers, transforming analytical understanding into impactful execution that scales our global growth and helps us improve our measurement within marketing analytics. You have the business acumen to know what makes a data product meaningful for marketing stakeholders and can effectively partner with them to act on your findings. You will ensure data quality remains solid across a broad horizontal scope, building a scalable, reflective view of past growth drivers while providing the technical foundation to fuel future strategy, ideation, and understanding across the wider analytics team and its context.
Your Mission
Your mission is to turn complex marketing data into a scalable, high-performance engine for insight generation and growth driver explanation. You will own the technical infrastructure that explains marketing performance, driving the development of automated tools (such as Streamlit apps, AI/agentic automation and reporting tools) that clearly articulate the drivers behind our growth. Rather than just reporting the financials, you will focus on the why to identify the highest-value opportunities within our Marketing Financials process. Ultimately working closely with the wider marketing, analytics, product and regional teams to bring those opportunities to execution and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analytics Ownership
- Growth Driver Explanation: Build and maintain the infrastructure to explain marketing growth drivers, ensuring the wider business clearly understands the mechanics and the why behind our performance.
- Opportunity Identification & Execution: Proactively identify key opportunities within the Marketing Financials process and partner with the wider marketing and regional teams to bring these insights through to strategic execution.
- Automating Insights: Lead the further productionising of our Marketing Financials process, shifting the focus towards automating driver analysis and providing deep-dives that uncover the core reasons behind growth performance.
- Advanced Analytics Tools: Lead the development and deployment of advanced analytics consumption tools, including Lightdash reporting, Streamlit apps, and AI/agentic automation to provide clear, accessible explanations of growth drivers.
- Growth Frameworks: Unlock frameworks for new growth areas by deeply understanding the drivers across the marketing funnel, and collaborate with global and regional teams to translate these insights into actionable strategies.
- Impact-Driven Delivery: Balance technical rigor with speed to deliver meaningful data products that translate complex growth drivers into clear business impact.
Leadership & Partnering
- Successfully collaborate with stakeholders across Marketing and Regional teams, acting as the crucial bridge between identifying data-driven opportunities and executing them within the wider marketing context.
- Be a subject matter expert on technical infrastructure within the Marketing Analytics team, ensuring our systems are optimized for driver analysis and explanation rather than just standard reporting.
- Contribute to the overall analytics strategy, ensuring that tribe data and analytics are discoverable, leveraged, and heavily focused on actionable understanding.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in a marketing analytics, data engineering, or insights role, ideally at the start of your technical lead journey.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and advanced Python is required.
- Experience with modern data stacks, including dbt, data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake), and visualization/semantic layers like Lightdash or Looker.
- Strong ability to understand the underlying mechanics of marketing to ensure technical products are meaningful and focused on explaining growth drivers.
- Proven ability to identify analytical opportunities within financial/marketing processes and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Marketing, Regional teams) to translate insights into strategic execution.
- A focus on building systems and automated insights that drive measurable improvements in how the business understands and acts upon data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building data products, such as Streamlit apps, custom internal tools, or AI-integrated workflows.
- Familiarity with AI-native development workflows and tooling (e.g., Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot) to accelerate the build of data products and automated agents.
- Proven ability to automate context around data, creating technical systems that effectively communicate and explain the drivers of growth to a wide stakeholder set.
