This job is with Wise, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.
As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money. Our Strategy Team sits at the heart of our internal creative agency across Brand, Creative, and Strategy. We bridge the gap between marketing channel briefs and creative production, turning unstructured ideas into sharp, audience-focused creative strategies that drive efficient customer acquisition.
We are looking for a performance-minded Lead Strategist for a 12 month maternity cover to step in and lead our creative effectiveness across paid marketing digital channels during a period of maternity cover. We’re looking for someone digitally native, execution-obsessed, and unafraid to ‘shake things up’. You will bring bold, distinctive creative thinking - moving beyond standard execution to invent breakthrough concepts across YouTube, Paid Social (Meta, TikTok), Display, Audio, and Influencers.
You are brilliant at translating data & insight into creative direction: understanding media performance metrics and customer research, diagnosing what’s working, and translating those learnings into inspiring briefs for our creative teams and agency partners. Based in our London office, you will have high autonomy to influence our global paid marketing strategy across the UK, Europe, the Americas, and APAC, using creative as our primary lever for growth.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead paid channel creative effectiveness: Own channel-specific creative strategies across Paid Social (Meta, TikTok), YouTube, Display, Audio, and emerging channels - using creative as the main lever to drive performance and lower customer acquisition costs.
- Scale creator & influencer strategy: Partner closely with our influencer marketing team to formalize, scale, and elevate the "Wise Influencer & Creator" framework globally.
- Drive creative quality & innovation: Serve as the strategic guardian across paid performance marketing campaigns, pushing creative boundaries from "good" to "exceptional" and introducing bold creative concepts that cut through the noise.
- Translating insight into strategy: Evaluate creative performance, and leverage consumer insights to further elevate creative execution across all briefs & projects.
- Authoring creative briefs: Write clear, sharp, and inspiring creative briefs - leaning on consumer insights to translate complex product features & propositions into exciting briefs for our creative teams.
- Fostering collaboration: Build tight relationships with creative, media, and regional teams to ensure our strategies are brought to life effectively and consistently across all markets.
- Team leadership: Lead a team of 2x Creative strategists - setting clear strategic focus, elevating team briefing standards, and empowering them to deliver high-impact creative strategies across all paid marketing channels.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- A proven track record using creative as a growth lever, with a deep understanding of full-funnel marketing dynamics and creative performance measurement (i.e., CPA, CTR, conversion…etc).
- Fluency in both ‘media/data’ and ‘creative’ languages - able to translate complex performance metrics into actionable, inspiring direction for creatives.
- Extensive experience authoring sharp creative briefs and guiding in-house creatives and external agency partners from concept to execution.
- A creative eye and the confidence to give constructive feedback, experienced in guiding in-house creative teams to deliver high quality, distinctive performance marketing creative.
- A solid understanding of the full marketing funnel and how to develop creative strategies that drive commercial results (customer acquisition) in a fintech or tech environment.
- Exceptional ability to build trust with media and marketing channel leads, collaborating with and influencing cross-functional stakeholders to deliver highly impactful creative solutions.
- Comfortable getting “into the weeds” of regular creative feedback, asset reviews or creative performance reporting.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous environment; able to make confident strategic calls without complete information.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll be part of a team of exceptionally talented marketers who consistently break new ground in the way they engage customers. Within Wise we operate in a flat structure, you’ll be in charge of your own workload and focus areas, giving you the chance to have a huge impact in one of the UK’s fastest growing & most successful startups.
