Your mission
- Take responsibility for leading the Compliance and Reporting function within the Tax team at Wise.
- Manage a small team covering compliance and local tax advisory matters in 25+ markets.
- Ownership of the group tax reporting process, overseeing tax provision calculations across US GAAP, IFRS and Local GAAP as appropriate.
- Liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders whilst supporting the team to ensure Wise Group and local statutory audits are completed in a collaborative and timely manner.
- Review corporate tax and withholding tax payment calculations and return filings to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Build strong relationships with business partners and guide the team in providing timely, accurate, practical and proactive tax advice.
- Take responsibility for Pillar 2 compliance.
- Provide support to certain tax audits raised around the world, requiring fast delivery of information to meet deadlines.
- Work closely with the rest of the Tax team to ensure alignment on positions taken and collaborative working on cross-dependencies.
- Work efficiently with external advisors to manage tax exposures and stay up to date on ongoing compliance obligations.
- Help the Director of Tax in managing and reporting tax risks, tax provisions, and risk incidences to be escalated.

This role offers the opportunity to work in an energetic international Tax & Finance Team and to learn about tax around the world, fintech and driving financial sustainability of a fast growing company.
About You
- You have at least 10 years direct tax experience with either big 4 or in-house.
- Solid understanding of compliance and reporting processes for FTSE 100 or equivalent and issues affecting financial services and technology industries.
- Excellent tax reporting and tax accounting knowledge, including SOx and US GAAP experience are preferred.
- Able to clearly communicate complex matters to a range of stakeholders in a simple, structured way.
- Organised person, who is able to think and respond to problems in an agile manner.
- You have the ability to work with and influence stakeholders on tax matters at all levels.
- Skilled at thinking strategically about risks and opportunities facing the organisation.
- Experienced in leading and developing people through effective coaching.
