How should global money work? How do you take a complex, stressful experience and make it simple, calming even? How do you challenge the way it’s always been done? How do you collaborate in a human‑centred way to ship work you’re truly proud of? These are just a few of the challenges a Group Content Design Lead will work on as part of Wise’s global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system. Right now we move £6 billion every month for over 12 million people. But we’re only 2% done — because people without borders deserve money without borders.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Collaborate with design, product and engineering partners to lead the squad, set the vision and strategy, and coach teams to deliver it.
  • Work on the highest impact projects in the squad, setting direction for upcoming work.
  • Support designers in planning and prioritising the highest‑impact work.
  • Use your design leadership skills to up‑level quality, maturity and alignment across the Grow squad.
  • Build systems that help the squad bring the product to new markets, balancing a global vision with local nuance.
  • Work with design leads from across Wise to build a single, seamless experience for customers.
  • Directly lead three content designers, mentoring and supporting their career growth.

You’ll also be part of the Content Guild, and will regularly collaborate with Wise’s content community. As one of our most senior content designers, you’ll also lead discussions, share knowledge, provide feedback, support peers, and help foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement that benefits both the Guild and the wider organisation. This is a 12‑month maternity leave cover contract.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Support and grow a talented design team.
  • Guide teams to deliver impact and ship work they’re proud of.
  • Be hands on: lead through the work and advocate for the customer experience as the squad launches new products and in new markets.
  • Elevate product and design quality: you’ll define what good looks like in the squad, then help them deliver it.
  • Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken, greedy system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.

About you:

  • You’re an accomplished content design leader with several years experience leading teams to ship world‑class consumer products.
  • You’re a trusted partner, building effective relationships with your peers across the business.
  • You have experience with leading cross‑functional design teams, including research and product design.
  • You’re comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity — and can successfully lead groups in this environment.
  • You have an eye for quality, and know how to support designers and teams to deliver it.
  • You’re influential and inspiring, able to lead others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment.
  • You’re highly empathetic, both to customers and the people you work with.

We’re people without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We want to work with the best people, no matter their background. If you’re passionate about learning new things and keen to join our mission, you’ll fit right in. Also, qualifications aren’t that important to us. If you’ve got great experience, and you’re great at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you. And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d especially love to hear from you if you’re from an under‑represented demographic.
