At Wise, we're on a mission to empower users to make smarter, more transparent financial decisions. We operate as a collective of autonomous teams, trusting and empowering everyone to take ownership and execute on the things that drive the greatest impact for our users.

Search is changing quickly as generative AI, machine learning and in-app discovery reshape how people find products and services. We are looking for an experienced, strategic and hands-on Paid Search Senior Manager to own our channel strategy and execution across a complex, global business. You will turn our growth objectives into clear plans, KPIs and investment choices, then stay close to delivery to make sure the work creates measurable customer and business impact.

You will bring deep paid search expertise, sound judgement and a test-and-learn mindset. You will improve how we use platforms, automation and emerging technologies, and raise the quality of work across the team by sharing your knowledge and leading by example.

Responsibilities:

  • Search Strategy & Execution: Own the end-to-end paid search strategy and execution for your remit. Translate business and customer objectives into a clear quarterly plan, channel KPIs, priorities and measurable outcomes, adapting as market conditions and evidence change.
  • Make and explain investment and budget allocation recommendations within agreed business guardrails. Forecast the expected impact, monitor delivery against plan and make timely trade-offs to improve customer acquisition outcomes.
  • Lead performance across large-scale Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Apple Ads accounts. Set direction for campaign structure, targeting, bidding and optimisation across markets and languages, and assess opportunities in emerging search and discovery channels.
  • Use automation, scripts, APIs and AI-enabled platform capabilities where they solve a clear customer or operational problem. Evaluate new approaches critically, measure their effect and share practices that improve efficiency or performance.
  • Shape a disciplined experimentation approach across search ads, extensions and landing-page journeys. Use customer and performance insights to prioritise tests, interpret results and apply learnings to campaign decisions.
  • Maintain and improve reporting and forecasting. Identify tactical and strategic opportunities, quantify their expected impact and translate them into practical delivery plans against acquisition targets.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Collaboration & Team Empowerment: Act as a key strategic partner and subject matter expert within the team. You will focus on empowering your colleagues by sharing advanced learnings, fostering collaborative problem-solving, and helping to establish strong communication and best-practice processes that elevate the entire team.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead high-impact, cross-channel initiatives and projects - working closely with SEO, Product, Analyst and Paid Marketing teams - to drive holistic user growth and enhance the overall customer journey.

Qualifications:

  • Have at least 5+ years experience in Paid Search and are recognised for deep expertise in the channel. You can explain how your decisions affect customer outcomes and Wise’s wider business goals.
  • Have owned complex, large-scale direct-response search activity and can set a strategy, turn it into an executable plan and remain close enough to the detail to improve delivery.
  • Can set and use KPIs, forecasts and measurement to prioritise work, make investment trade-offs and explain performance clearly to different audiences.
  • Are curious about generative AI and automation in search, and can distinguish useful applications from platform or technology hype through careful testing.
  • Are customer-first and believe search marketing should help people find relevant information and make transparent financial decisions.
  • Understand modern tracking, attribution and measurement, and can work with analysts and technical partners to assess the quality and limits of available evidence.
  • Have advanced experience with bid management and automation, including implementing or adapting scripts, APIs or equivalent solutions where appropriate.
  • Influence and challenge others constructively, adapt your communication to the audience and build productive relationships across functions and with external partners.
  • Enjoy developing others, whether through line management or by mentoring colleagues and sharing practical knowledge across the team.

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive. We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences. Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.
