The Business Accounting Integrations and Reporting is on a mission to simplify financial management for Wise's business customers. We build the integrations that allow businesses to seamlessly connect their accounting software with Wise, streamlining their reconciliation processes and improving financial reporting. Our work helps our business customers around the world gain better control and insight into their finances.
The team is made up of engineers distributed across London and Budapest and working with other teams in the Business Account Squad. Our ambitious roadmap for 2026/27 includes significantly expanding regional coverage, enhancing our reporting capabilities, and developing a reliable and extensible platform.
As a Backend Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for building products that have a direct impact on all of our business customers. We’re looking for someone who is ready to tackle a wide range of challenges, from improving existing integrations to building new features from the ground up.
In this role, you will:
- Enhance our Accounting Integrations: Increase the coverage, reliability, and reporting capabilities of our integrations.
- Improve Workflow & Reporting: Introduce new accounting workflows and customisable reporting features to reduce manual work for our customers.
- Expand Our Global Footprint: Help localise our offerings to meet regional demands and integrate with regional accounting tools.
- Build an Extensible Platform: Develop a scalable and reliable platform architecture that enables both internal and external teams to integrate quickly and efficiently.
What do you need?

- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages like Java, Python or Go.
- Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems principles.
- Experience in designing and optimising distributed architectures is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working in product-led companies, with a strong product mindset that prioritises user needs and business goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to break down complex problems into shippable milestones that deliver value fast.
- Proven experience in managing relationships with various stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of project goals and requirements.
- Skilled in balancing stakeholder needs with technical feasibility.
Nice to Have:
- Solid understanding of database fundamentals.
- Experience in messaging systems such as Kafka is a plus.
Starting salary: 87K - 111K GBP + RSUs
