Wise Technical Ltd is seeking a Junior Controls Engineer to join its team. As a fast growing technical consultancy that specialises in supporting logistics providers and airports, Wise offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment. As Junior Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of control systems for airports, both domestically and internationally. You will work as part of a team to design, develop, test, and commission control systems, ensure that they meet client requirements, and provide ongoing support for the systems once they are operational. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early career professional who is passionate about aviation and has strong problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and commission control systems for airports
  • Support the development and implementation of new projects
  • Participate in project planning and scheduling
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Provide on-site support for control systems implementation and maintenance
  • Prepare reports and presentations for clients and senior management
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to overall company objectives
  • Contributing to continuous improvement
  • Adhering to internal test processes and procedures
  • Surveying existing system condition and behaviours

Qualifications

  • HNC / BTEC and apprenticeship in suitable Electromechanical discipline, or Degree in relevant software/control engineering discipline

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical and control system design
  • Control system software and hardware commissioning and/or development
  • Siemens TIA Portal and ideally SCL or STL, or another statement base PLC language
  • Report writing
  • Microsoft Office
  • Control system design methodology
  • Automated baggage handling system – PLC, SCADA and SAC
  • Hold Baggage Screening processes
  • Functional Safety Systems
  • Configuration management when managing complex systems
  • Systems Engineering
  • Emulation and Simulation tools (e.g. Emulate 3d)
  • Requirements management and QMS systems
