BACKGROUND

Wise Music Group is a global independent music publisher. The Group maintains a global network of standalone offices including London, New York, Los Angeles, Sydney, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Madrid, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Reykjavík, Bergamo, and Tokyo. Wise Music Group owns or controls over half a million copyrights – including the world’s largest independent holding of historic and contemporary classical music – as well as an enormous range of popular songs spanning evergreen, jazz, reggae, blues, pop, and rock.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Music Copyright Administrator supports the Senior Manager, Copyright Services in the delivery of effective management of the rights owned and/or controlled by the affiliate companies within the Wise Music Group.

  • Check songs/deal/catalogues to ensure our claims are accurately reflected at the societies.
  • Manage the expiry dates on deals within an Excel format and in the iMaestro database.
  • Audit agreements for completeness and accuracy.
  • Error report maintenance for the Wise Music Group of Companies.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • REGISTRATION ACCURACY/COMPLETENESS: Obtain society based reports for writers/deals/catalogues, compare against information held in iMaestro database and arrange for works to be updated at the societies where they are inaccurate.
  • DEAL EXPIRY MANAGEMENT: Maintain the central spreadsheet which details upcoming deal expiry dates and send regular reports to management of forthcoming expiries.
  • DEAL AUDITS: Review active deals to ensure all works are fully registered at the societies & shipped to the 3rd party sub-publishers.
  • ERROR REPORT MANAGEMENT: Review works where income is held in each affiliate system of iMaestro to identify and complete missing information preventing Wise Music accounting to client.
  • COPYRIGHT TASKS: Provide support to all departments in the Wise Music Group.

SKILLS & BEHAVIOURAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications: Good level of English and Maths.
  • Experience: Copyright knowledge and experience is not expected. Experience of working as part of a team would be an advantage but not necessary.
  • Knowledge: General knowledge of music of all genres. Microsoft Office.
  • Skills and Abilities: The ability to use the Internet as a research tool, ability to read and interpret publishing agreements, good knowledge of Microsoft applications, ability to prioritise workloads, good communication and inter-personal skills, good organisational skills.
  • Personal Qualities: To follow instruction and guidance, ability to work under pressure, team player, high level of accuracy and attention to detail, willing to help with other tasks where needed.

Availability: Core working hours are 0930 to 1730 Monday to Friday, however you will need to be flexible and able to work additional hours as required ensuring deadlines are met.
