My client is a well-respected East Sussex-based law firm, known for their compassionate approach, strong ethics and unwavering commitment to outstanding client care. They are at the heart of what they do, and they pride themselves on guiding clients through some of the most difficult moments of their lives with clarity, sensitivity and reassurance.

As their team continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Family Law Solicitor who shares our values and passion for making a genuine difference.

The Role

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a client-focused environment, enjoys autonomy, and is confident handling a broad range of private family law matters. You will manage your own varied caseload, build trusted relationships with clients, and play an active role in maintaining the firm’s excellent reputation within the local community.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a full and varied family law caseload, including:
  • Divorce and separation
  • Financial remedy proceedings
  • Private law children matters
  • Cohabitation disputes
  • Providing clear, practical and empathetic advice tailored to each client’s circumstances
  • Drafting legal documents, applications, statements and correspondence
  • Conducting advocacy where appropriate
  • Maintaining excellent file management and regulatory compliance
  • Building strong, long-term client relationships with a high standard of communication and care
  • Contributing to business development, networking and the firm’s local profile
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive and professional team
  • About You

    • A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ years’ PQE in family law (other levels considered for exceptional candidates)
    • Strong technical knowledge across all core areas of private family law
    • Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision
    • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
    • Naturally client-focused, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy
    • Well organised, detail-orientated and proactive
    • Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential
    • Keen to contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm
