Client Accounts & Tax Assistant My lovely client based in a rural location on the outskirts of Horsham is looking for an experience Client Accounts and Tax Assistant to join their team. Working as part of a team of 7, they really are a friendly bunch, who strive to work hard, have a happy and production working environment and provide an exemplary service to their many clients – many of whom have been with thiem for years. Purpose: To deliver comprehensive accounting and tax services, including statutory accounts, tax returns, and VAT compliance, while fostering strong client relationships and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements Main Responsibilities: 1. Working closely with clients & develop excellent working relationships 2. Accounts & taxable profits computations for sole traders & partnerships 3. Statutory accounts and tax returns for limited companies & LLPs 4. Self-Assessment tax returns for private clients, business & property owners 5. VAT compliance & returns 6. Reserves computations & dividend distributions 7. Company minutes, resolutions, forms & returns e.g. confirmation statement 8. Bookkeeping Measures of performance: 1. Client retention 2. Team happiness 3. Client satisfaction 4. Response times for client communications 5. Meeting internal & external deadlines 6. Maintenance of technical knowledge 7. Accuracy of work 8. Non-repetition of errors PERSON SPECIFICATION Knowledge: 1. UK GAAP, FRS105 and FRS102 (s1A) 2. Income tax for individuals & unincorporated businesses 3. Corporation tax for small and micro entities 4. VAT compliance for UK businesses 5. Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping Skills/attributes: 1. Share knowledge & experience, collaborate & communicate 2. Be authentic & keep your word 3. Look for solutions but don’t be afraid to ask for help 4. Accept responsibility & apologise for mistakes 5. Constantly look at ideas & processes for ways to improve 6. Act openly & do not allow bias to override judgement Qualifications: 1. AAT (level 3 or higher) 2. ICB level 4 3. Part-qualified ACCA or ACA 4. ATT and/or CTA pathway Experience: 1. Work in an accounting practice 2. Work in a customer facing role 3. Technologically proficient including Xero/QBO/Sage, MS Office applications, workflow/document management system Benefits: 1. Full-time with study package/apprenticeship 2.
