Wise Monkey Entertainment Ltd. is a small but ambitious indie game studio based in London building lovingly hand-crafted detective adventures packed with dry British humour. We’re out to make murder mystery games absurd and theatrical again—with stylised pixel-art visuals, rich puzzles, punchy and flavourful writing, and that classic twist-you-didn’t-see-coming. Think high-stakes whodunnit with character, charm, and psychedelic creative freedom.
No Stone Unturned is our studio’s debut, a far-from-classic Whoddunit that asks the question “Why DID the chicken cross the road?” Coming to players Early 2026, it blends the fast-paced crazy story of amnesiac squirrel Detective Cox with a cosy story-rich world and mini-games that present rewarding challenges for players in unexpected moments.
This is a full-time role joining the No Stone Unturned team in our Walthamstow Studio, a short walk from Blackhorse Road Underground Station, London. We’re looking for a technically experienced Unity Developer who’s excited to help drive forward production and shape the final form of the game. You’ll work directly with the current dev team, game director, as well as junior designers and artists to bring every element—from branching dialogue to sleuthy minigames—to life:
- Taking ownership of implementation and systems in Unity
- Supporting junior designers with implementation and mini-game logic
- Working with a team of freelance artists, animators, and composers to bring polish to the final product
- Advising on gameplay systems, performance, and bug fixes
- Helping keep the project on track, playable, and beautifully weird
Salary dependent on experience level.
We’re Looking For Someone Who…
- Loves designing systems and solving puzzles
- Has solid Unity experience and can confidently prototype and implement new features
- Can work smartly with limited resources, utilise modern technologies and knows how to finish
- Enjoys a creative, collaborative environment with a bold sense of humour
- Is excited about narrative-driven games and has ideas on how to make them sing
- Can communicate clearly and manage timelines effectively
Bonus Points For:
- Past experience with shipped titles
- Puzzle design experience (in games or tabletop)
- A degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field
- A love of detective classics like Poirot, Holmes, Fletcher as well as more modern twists like Hot Fuzz, Knives Out, Disco Elysium, LA Noire
