Wise May are looking for a Payroll Officer to join a busy Accountancy firm in the City of London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join their specialist Payroll team of 9, working closely with stakeholders company wide. This is a full time, permanent position. The role has hybrid working after probation (3 days in the office / 2 days remote), and the hours are 09:00-17:30.
Payroll Officer duties and responsibilities:
- Process client payroll accurately, prepare and submit payslips.
- Take ownership of a portfolio of clients.
- Prepare Year End returns for clients, including P60s and P11Ds, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist with advice and guidance, answering queries arising from the Payroll Assistants.
- Assist with calculation of absence including sickness, leave and statutory payments.
- Perform any other tasks associated with payroll to complete payrolls within agreed deadlines.
Payroll Officer skills and experience required:
- Demonstrable experience managing client payroll, within a professional services organisation.
- STAR payroll Software experience.
- Sound bureau experience.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good customer service skills and professional telephone manner.
- Computer literate.
