We are currently recruiting on behalf of a scale-up Fintech for a Financial Accountant to join their team to facilitate the smooth running of their core financial processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and assisting with audit preparation. Over time, there is potential for the role to expand into broader financial and operational reporting responsibilities
This is a permanent position, with both full and part time working arrangements considered. Our client offers flexible hybrid working and the salary is £35,000 – £55,000 dependant on experience + Benefits.
Financial Accountant duties and responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and manage bill payments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records.
  • Prepare and post basic accounting journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
  • Support the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of management accounts.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to auditor queries.
  • Maintain financial documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to support ad hoc finance and reporting tasks.
  • Over time, contribute to company-wide metrics and management reporting.

Financial Accountant key skills and experience required:

  • A dependable, results-driven and hands-on individual.
  • Experience of working through the full accounting lifecycle.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of invoicing, accruals, pre-payments, bank reconciliations and journaling.
  • Proven experience in supporting the month-end close process and assisting with the preparation of management accounts.
  • Proficient in using Xero.
  • Logical mindset, with a high attention to detail.
  • Team orientated individual, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
