Senior Policy Advisor in Doncaster

Wise May is recruiting for an Insurance Policy Wordings Specialist with London Market insurance experience to join a global insurance and reinsurance provider, to ensure legal and regulatory compliance within policy wordings, clauses, contracts and endorsements.

This is a full time, permanent position with hybrid working (4 days in the office and 1 day remote).

Policy Wordings Specialist duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Underwriters and other teams to provide advice and guidance on policy language, coverage and potential risks.
• Ensure documents are legally and regulatorily compliant and align with regulatory standards, market practice and binding authority agreements.
• Create and upload policy wordings, clauses, and endorsements to reflect underwriting intent, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
• Develop and maintain libraries of approved template wordings and clauses.
• Actively monitor and analyse regulatory developments and market trends.
• Deliver training sessions to internal teams on best practices for wordings and documentation.

Policy Wordings Specialist key skills and experience required:

• In-depth understanding of London Market insurance products, insurance wordings and contract law.
• Adept at interpreting complex concepts and contract drafting.
• Effective relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, confident in engaging with colleagues across different business departments and representing the business at market forums.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in analysing requests, identifying potential issues and proposing appropriate solutions.
• Able to manage and take responsibility for own workload, effectively coordinating multiple priorities.
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to work in and contribute to the team.
• A good communicator, with the ability to act in a professional manner.
