As part of our team, you will be helping us create an entirely new network for the world's money.

We are looking for a Solutions Engineering Lead to join our growing Wise Platform team in London. The Wise Platform team works with top tier global financial institutions and major tech companies to offer Wise products and services directly to their customers. Through our API, we help partners to architect and build integrations to our world class-leading international finance products, which in turn improves Wise Platform by increasing the capabilities of our public API. This role will facilitate growth, troubleshoot and enhance the product offerings of Wise.

As part of the Wise Platform team, you’ll play a key role in providing technical consulting and product guidance to top tier banks and other partners integrating Wise into their products, primarily in a post-sale capacity. Solutions Engineering at Wise is a post sales role, focussed on working with our integrating partners to enable them to successfully launch a product based on Wise’s services. The role is multifaceted but includes providing technical consulting to partners, designing novel solutions to solve for their constraints and working internally to influence the product roadmap. Wise is growing the Solutions Engineering function globally and we are looking for a lead to continue building the team in EMEA and to support new and existing Wisers to achieve their potential. You would work across partners, your own team, Wise Platform and the wider organisation to maximise your team’s impact.

Your role in the team:

  • You’ll be responsible for the overall health and productivity of your team.
  • Defining strong, clear goals that align with Wise Platform’s objectives and supporting the team in achieving them.
  • You’ll provide feedback on your team’s approach and help them make data-driven decisions.
  • You’ll have an overview of what’s happening across the organisation and think about how things impact partners, in terms of opportunities and risks.
  • When needed, you’ll roll your sleeves up to be involved in the project delivery process.

Qualifications:

  • Have previously worked with external parties to deliver technical projects with REST API integrations.
  • Experience building, leading and mentoring driven and a high performing technical delivery team.
  • Experience building and designing scalable and performing systems within a microservice architecture.
  • Expert on all things API, such as RESTful design, OpenAPI, OAuth2, versioning, etc.
  • Have a strong product mindset and be able to support others to make the right decisions and compromises.
  • Comfortable working on big challenges and a history of successfully delivering best in class solutions.
  • Experience on managing client relationships and setting accurate expectations.

This role offers you the opportunity to:

  • Define your own path to success, with autonomy to create and drive your vision forward.
  • The opportunity to shape and innovate financial products across regions.
  • Identify problems and unlock opportunities for Wise and its partners through technology solutions.
  • Inspire teams internally and externally with your ideas, knowledge, and proactive attitude.
  • Travel to work with teams in London, as well as visit partners across the EMEA region.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and at times chaotic environment and are excited about working with a diverse team to shape the future of financial integrations, this could be the perfect role for you.

What do we offer:

  • Starting salary: £135,000 - £175,000 + RSUs.

We're people building money without borders - without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive. We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences. Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.

How to prepare for a job interview at Wise group

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Wise group uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
