Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.

About the role

We're looking for a skilled iOS engineer to become part of our Account Mobile team, where you will play a key role in crafting a cohesive, polished, and responsive experience for all Wise Account users. Collaboration is key to how we operate across the business in this role, and you will work alongside product, design, and analytics teams to create the best tools for our users, helping them manage their cross-currency needs with ease whilst shaping the Wise Account offering.

Being a member of Mobile engineering, you are encouraged to influence other parts of the app, collaborate with 60+ other mobile engineers and help raise both the UX and code quality across all Wise customers. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the solutions you build scale and fit well in order to achieve a high quality global product and collaborate often with your peers across other teams as well.

How we work

At Account Mobile, we’re a team of iOS and Android engineers supporting all teams within the Consumer Account Squad. We drive the development of the app’s homepage and the features that help users manage and grow their money. As a mobile engineer in Account Mobile, you'll be part of a core product team, working closely with a designer, product manager, and your fellow engineers. You will also have the chance to collaborate with other teams and contribute to broader technical initiatives across the company.

What will you be working on?

  • Work with your team to plan, scope, and build consistent experiences across Wise’s native applications and the web and enable features with a customer centric focus.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design (UI), analytics, and other teams across the company to deliver impactful experiences to Wise users as part of a cross‑functional team.
  • Take responsibility for the overall health and quality of the iOS project.
  • Collaborate with other iOS and Android engineers to ensure the iOS project remains current and leverages new technologies and best practices as well as consistency across platforms.
  • Work with the teams to ensure that code is clean, maintainable and efficient to maintain the application performance responsive, load times and stability.

Qualifications

What do you need?

We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!

  • Proven experience in building and deploying an app that delight customers.
  • Proficiency in Swift.
  • Familiarity with software architectural patterns like MVC, MVVM, or VIPER. (We use VIPER and MVVM but are open to exploring new approaches).
  • Desire to write testable code.
  • Understanding of REST API design.
  • A strong product mindset and passion for user experience—you prioritise work with users in mind and make data‑driven decisions to address user issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to both collaborate effectively with your team and solve problems independently and proactively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SwiftUI, Structured Concurrency, or CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
  • Familiarity with internationalisation patterns for apps serving many markets.
  • A fintech background — but absolutely not required.

For everyone, everywhere. We're people building money without borders — without judgement or prejudice, too. We believe teams are strongest when they are diverse, equitable and inclusive. We're proud to have a truly international team, and we celebrate our differences. Inclusive teams help us live our values and make sure every Wiser feels respected, empowered to contribute towards our mission and able to progress in their careers.

How to prepare for a job interview at Wise group

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Wise group uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
